Pratt School of Engineering
From the 2007-08 Giving to Duke Annual Report:
The Pratt School of Engineering received support for new certificate programs in uncertainty analysis and optimization and in energy and the environment. Endowment gifts supported faculty chairs and student scholarships, while research grants helped fund a range of activities, including the development of novel and non-invasive treatments for disease. Annual Fund gifts were directed primarily to student programs, including activities at the Home Depot Smart Home—the first LEED platinum-rated residence hall on the planet. In 2008-09, the school's new dean, Tom Katsouleas, hopes to build support for undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, faculty chairs, and the Engineering Annual Fund.
2007-08 Cash Total: $21.0M
