Duke Athletics

From the 2007-08 Giving to Duke Annual Report:

Women's golf and men's lacrosse won ACC Championships in 2007-08. In NCAA tournaments, women's golf finished third, women's and men's lacrosse advanced to the Final Four, and women's soccer, basketball, and tennis reached the top 16. Contributions supported renovations to the William D. Murray Building and the field hockey stadium. Expendable scholarship gifts to the Iron Dukes hit a record high, while endowment gifts strengthened Duke's permanent base of support for student-athletes. Kevin White was named the new vice president and director of athletics, and David Cutcliffe was named the new head football coach. Duke's Board of Trustees approved a strategic plan for athletics, which includes a call for increased funding and fund-raising for athletic scholarships and facilities.

2007-08 Cash Total: $22.4M
